Valuing our Waterways – Biodiversity Lecture

Valuing our Waterways Lecture

Our next biodiversity lecture, taking place on Monday Feb 11th at 7pm in Waterpark House, will focus on creating a greater understanding of local water bodies, with particular emphasis on the Fergus River in Ennis. It will outline practical measures that Tidy Towns groups and others can take to improve their local water body. The talk will encourage local communities to link their work efforts into their local water bodies, biodiversity planning and riparian
management.

Ruairí Ó Conchúir, of LAWCO, will be our speaker. Ruairí has for more than 25 years worked in the field of conservation, agriculture and community based natural resource management, including 11 years in two multi-award-winning EU LIFE projects, BurrenLIFE – Farming for Conservation in the Burren and MulkearLIFE – focused on integrated catchment management on the Lower Shannon.

A great opportunity to ask Ruairí about the current grant scheme being advertised by LAWCO as well as their cosponsored Waters & Communities Special Award in the NAtional Tidy Towns Competition.

This is a FREE event and all are welcome
