We just received correspondence from Clare County Council, following our letter in January to make Ennis an election-poster free town:
‘I wish to advise that at the February Meeting of Ennis Municipal District, the Elected Members supported a motion on a poster free election campaign 2019, in the interests of the environment and the continued efforts of Tidy Towns Committees.’
Great that our letter and representations from others throughout the County has resulted in the ENTIRE Municipal District being included!
We should stress that this is a voluntary code of conduct and cannot be enforced by Clare Co. Council. We urge all current and prospective candidates to sign up to this Code of Conduct.
