Ennis Tidy Towns are getting involved and helping to promote bikeweek this year and we commend Minister Noel Dempsey’s recent National Cycle Policy Framework. As part of this policy, Minister Dempsey initiated an annual National Bike Week (13th – 20th June 2010), and we are working closely with Clare county council road safety officer Barry Keating in this regard along with John Sweeney, of Clare sports partnership, and An Taisce Green schools travel officer Roisin Ni Ghairbhith.
Our plan is to encourage and invite all cycle interest groups to participate in bikeweek
As an extra incentive we are giving one student in Ennis who cycles to school on Wednesday 16th of June, a chance to win a bike and helmet to the value of €250.
Ennis Tidy Towns Committee are also organising a water stop along the route and will be handing out water to all who participate on the cycle
