Ennis Town Council in partnership with Ennis Tidy Towns, had a very successful spring clean last Saturday 17/4/2010.

Over 27 residents groups took part in clean ups of their estates and green areas, and other estates have signed up and will be doing a clean up in the weeks ahead. Waterpark house was our meeting point at 11 on Saturday and plenty of volunteers showed up to help clean the approach roads to Ennis, and this year we targeted Lees road, which has become a black spot for littering.

We would like to thank the Lions club, who cleaned the Kilrush road,  The civil defence who tackled the Quinn road, The gardai, the staff of McDonalds for all their help on the day. The residents of Woodhaven estate who cleaned their estate and also cleaned from the Kilrush road roundabout all the way along the bypass to the Clare castle roundabout. And to all the people from volunteers to staff. And the business community which all culminated in a very successful spring clean. In all Ennis Town Council removed 9 tonnes of rubbish/litter on the day
