Unoccupied Retail Unit Scheme

Ennis Tidy Towns saw an opportunity to improve the appearance of the streetscape and enrich the resident’s and visitor’s experience by showcasing the the rich heritage of the town in unoccupied retail unit windows.

We have commissioned bespoke A0 hangings which showcase the following aspects of our town:

• Architecture, natural heritage
• Landscape
• Culture
• Musical traditions

These posters hang in empty retail units, in this way we also hope to attract new business providers to our town.  The hangings have been developed so they are easily hung and removed to reuse.

Such was the success of this scheme that some local pubs also requested hangings – in particular the pictures depicting traditional musicians who have since passed away.
