Garden of Eden Projects Ireland is a social initiative of Ennis-based business FH Wetland Systems. Two new Garden of Eden funded projects were planted in housing estates in Ennis this past year. One in An Sean Dún on the Tulla Road in the summer, and another in Woodlawn on the Lahinch Road in spring. See the video at www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=w1QKzmxAoa0.

Highlighting local biodiversity resources, Cormac McCarthy of An Sean Dún on the Tulla Road has posted a video clip of pipistrelle bats at his estate: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8na5mAnpanY&feature=endscreen.

An Sean Dún estate on the Tulla Road have surpassed themselves this year, with their new orchard from last summer to a willow workshop and a GIY tour of the estate this May. The heritage of the estate has been highlighted in their Community Heritage Plan document, which shows proposals for a heritage trail, highlights the importance of the adjoining wetland, outlines their Nobles of the Wood tree planting project and identifies the ring fort within their estate as being an area of importance, in an initiative designed to celebrate it and promote it’s presence rather than let the briars claim it as their own. Fantastic work by all concerned throughout this past year. Their website is at www.anseandun.com.
